Special Enrollment Period - Update

A special enrollment period will begin March 15th and end on April 30th to help consumers avoid tax penalties for not obtaining health insurance during the OEP.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced a special enrollment period for individuals and families who did not have health coverage in 2014 and are subject to the fee or “shared responsibility payment” when they file their 2014 taxes in states which use the Federally Facilitated Marketplace.

To qualify for the special enrollment period:

  • You will need to self-attest that you had to pay a penalty for not having coverage in 2014
  • You can not be enrolled in a plan on Healthcare.gov
  • You must claim that you only found out you were going to have to pay a penalty when you filed your income tax forms

Open Enrollment Is Now Closed: The next open enrollment begins on November 1st. However, you can still apply for coverage if you have experienced a life change event such as birth, divorce, loss of COBRA coverage. Please click here to view the list of Qualifying Events.

**Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon will continue to accept application through February 28, 2015 for a March 1, 2015 effective date.

***Health Republic will continue to sell plans to individuals and families until 5 p.m. on Monday, March 16, with an effective date of April 1.

****Providence will continue to sell plans to individuals and families until 5 p.m. April 30 for an effective date as far out as July 1, 2015.

Group Oregon Health Insurance

We offer Group Health and Dental plans from Regence Blue Cross, UnitedHealthcare, Lifewise, Providence, Regence HMO Oregon, Moda Health (formerly ODS Health Plans), Pacific Source, Health Net, Standard Life, Reliastar, Security Life, AFLAC and others. Group Health Insurance is available for 2 or more people working for the same company. Many Partner and Husband and Wife businesses do qualify.

Healthcare Reform - Special Enrollment and qualifying events

To be eligible, you must complete your application for coverage within 60 days of the qualifying event or loss of coverage, whichever is later. If your application is not completed within this time period, it will expire and you will no longer be eligible for Special Enrollment. [ more info ]

Healthcare Reform - Annual Enrollment

At CDA Insurance, doing everything within our power to make sure that we provide you with the most current and up-to-date information about coverage that is available both the Exchange. Annual enrollment will begin on October 1, 2015 and on that date companies will begin providing us with details about their rates and benefits. We will update this web site as the quickly as we can. The magnitude of the changes are huge, so please keep checking back with us. If you prefer, you can fill out our online form and request that we contact you when we have all of the information available.

Medicare Advantage Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)

2016 Medicare Advantage Plan information will be released by the insurance carriers beginning October 1, 2015. Please check back during the first week of October for 2016 MAPD and MA plan information. We will be posting the new information as soon as we get it and we can notify you when we do.

Short Term Health Insurance

When you find that new job, most employers have a waiting period before you are eligible for company benefits. Temporary Health Insurance was designed to help in these situations: between jobs; starting a new one; a new/recent college graduate; taking a semester off from college, if you are relocating to another area of the country, or waiting for Group coverage to begin.
